Your Sow Deserves Our Full Attention

Your sow has special needs, as her role is equally demanding. She expends significant energy during pregnancy, labor, and in nourishing her piglets. This isn’t an easy task, and she requires ample vitamins and minerals to support her health and provide for her piglets.

We all want sows to produce plenty of high-quality milk, helping piglets grow strong and healthy. The better the nutrition we provide to her, the more she can deliver to her piglets.

However, we must also keep in mind that the sow’s long-term health is just as important. Supporting her welfare ensures she can continue to thrive, which, in turn, benefits us all. Her well-being should always be a top priority.

Danvit is here to offer a wide range of products designed to make both your and your sow’s work easier.

Let’s talk about how we can support you!

Product overview

LifeMatters

We believe that there is more we can do to help the sows.

According to SEGES in 2023 the sows’ mortality rate in Denmark was above 14%.

We want to face this challenge. In Danvit we have full focus on sows as they are the heart of all pig production. We not only want her to have a long life but we also want her to have a good life. Animal welfare is on top of our priority list. This is why we came up with LafeMatters concept.

VA customer: You get what you pay for

There are many different approaches to feed selection in livestock production, but it pays to keep feed quality in mind when making feed choices. Feed quality can have a major impact on animal health and overall production efficiency.

Troels Lundby runs a herd of 670 sows in the Holstebro area, and he has experienced first-hand what quality feed can do for his herd. Troels had a DLBR Business Check carried out, which showed that he had the lowest feed costs per pig produced compared to similar farms – despite not necessarily going for the cheapest feed products for his production.

– “Basically, we mostly go for quality. I never actually ask about the price. We leave the feed part to the VA, and then we take care of the pigs,” says Troels Lundby.

Troels has learnt over the years that good quality feed makes the animals perform, which results in low feed costs per pig produced. He also believes that there is a clear correlation between price and quality when it comes to feed:

– “There’s probably no doubt that if you want quality, you have to pay a little more. But it’s certainly my impression that when you do business with VA, it goes hand in hand. You get what you pay for,” says Troels.
