The sows’ mortality percentage in Denmark in 2023 according to SEGES
Sow mortality in Denmark is far too high. And this is a real problem that we need to solve.
Today, with the knowledge we have, the experience we have gained and the technology that is available, we are ready to face this challenge.
With the tools available, we have defined the causes of these. We then brought together specialists in pig production and developed 3 solutions that have effectively improved this outcome in some herds in Denmark.
Before we decided to introduce them to the general market, we tested this decently.
Today we invite you to check firstly our results and secondly the products themselves.
VA SizeMatters
VA SizeMatters is a Patented sieving machine for automated and ongoing analyze of particle size in finished feed. VA SizeMatters takes a sample from the mixer and sieves using 3-, 2- and 1 mm screens. The process is performed during production. When the particle size is not in desired grinding profile range, an alarm is sent, and the operator adjusts the mill settings to optimize the grinding.
ADILife
ADILife is a supplement with antioxidants that helps sows during the transition phase from gestant sow to nursing sow.
During this period, the sow is under extreme oxidative stress which can be significantly improved by providing a wide range of different antioxidants that boost the sow’s resistance.
VA EasyFiber
VA EasyFiber is a fiber supplement for sows. By replacing sugar beet pulp pellets with VA EasyFiber, the sow is enriched with fatty acids from lecithin, linseed and fish.
The fibers that are sourced from sugar beet pulp pellets, oats, and rye, provide energy that is released slowly in the lactating sow.
Research has shown that fibers have a positive effect on stillborn piglets, back fat, and milk production.
